Liftoff of Atlantis on the Final Space Shuttle Launch, STS 135 July, 8, 2011 at Kennedy Space Center Florida.
'STS-135 Space Shuttle Atlantis'.
After 30+ flights into space and back this was the last liftoff of Atlantis and the Final Space Shuttle Launch, STS 135 July, 8, 2011 at Kennedy Space Center Florida.
Since 1981 the space shuttle program had taken astronauts into space and built the ISS (International Space Station). The most complex machine made by man the space shuttle was a wonder of engineering and mans ability to achieve the unimagined, all ended with this last shuttle launch. I had the good fortune to have been at the press site for this and five other shuttle launches over the years and I must say to experience a big-rocket being launched into space is something to behold and it makes all human senses come alive.
